Ooops--hit the wrong key--(but that's the story of my computer life--) any way, here's the recipe for Mother's Bread:
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 C Crisco (scant)
1/2 C warm water on a pkg of powered yeast--add to above
1 egg, whipped--add
Warm 1 1/2 Cup Milk and pour over above mixture. Mix
Add 6 cups of sifted flour--mix and let rise for 1 1/2 hours
Shape into two greased bread pans, and let rise another 1 1/2 hours
Bake in 350* oven for 30 minutes Cover top with butter when you take it from the oven.
If you want to use graham flour, use 2 cups of it, and 4 Cups of white flour
Or add some cheese and/ or raisins along with the flour for two other variations
Let me know if you make it, and how it turned out----than rest----Marian
